Sustainability and environmental protection
we share responsibility for our environment together with you. Please help us to minimise pollution as much as possible.
Water: It is sometimes thought that here in Germany we have an unlimited supply of this important resource. The first problems in supplying the cities and falling ground water levels resulting in serious damage to our forests have shown that it is important for us in North Germany to limit our water consumption too, but without reducing the level of comfort.
Waste water: Our waste water is purified by means of a fully organic treatment system and then removed via the runoff ditches. This equipment is very sensitive to sanitary fluids, so please either do not use these at all or only use sanitary fluids which work without any bactericidal additives. Please also help to protect the environment by only using biodegradable detergents and cleaning materials.
Electricity: We use energy-saving light bulbs and motion detectors.
Heating: Since 2008 we have gradually been changing to CO2-neutral heating using solar energy and wood pellets. The increases in energy costs and gas supply problems have made it clear to us that we need to take economy measures, and also achieve a greater independence from suppliers.
Hot water is produced by means of a solar system combined with a pellet heating system. Since 2011 we have mainly used the waste heat from a nearby combined heat and power plant.
Waste separation: As the dumping of waste is no longer permitted in Germany, we ask you to help us in avoiding and sorting waste.
Our campsite will do everything possible to reduce environmental pollution and avoid cost increases in this area for you as our visitors.
